“Involved as a coach in SYSA since 2009, as the president since 2013. Have been involved in coaching/instructing kids and teens in a variety of activities for over 25 years. Spent 10+ years running multiple ski and snowboard programs at Whistler Blackcomb. Outside of soccer I enjoy spending time with my family in the mountains on bikes or skis.”

“Born and raised in BC, I moved to Squamish in 2003. I have two kids, both play soccer. I joined the SYSA board of directors as Secretary in 2015. I like to be involved in the community and be part of solving problems and making progressive change; I like to get answers to questions and keep communication open. Driving my involvement in community initiatives is the long-term goal of making Squamish a stronger community for my kids to grow up in, become a part of, and contribute to.”

SYSA Director: Jose Oreamuno

“I moved to Squamish from Chile in 1978, playing for Squamish soccer since 1979. I coached my children in house league and travel teams, I now enjoy watching my grandchildren play soccer. I have been a referee since 1998, an SYSA board member since 1999, head referee since 2010. I am the President of Howe Sound Men’s Soccer and we have been organizing Soccerfest Squamish since 2004. My commitment is for the passion of the game of soccer.”

SYSA Technical Director: Peter Weiland

SYSA Technical Director since 2018, SYSA Head Coach since 2014, volunteer Coach at SYSA since 2007.
“I grew up in Germany, played soccer at University of Mainz, studied Sports Science and Kinesiology at University of Mainz, Germany. I moved to Canada in 1993. I have experience as a back country ski guide, I work as a ski instructor at Whistler Blackcomb and run a road bike touring company. We love living in Squamish because aside from coaching soccer I enjoy a powder day in the backcountry, a perfect day windsurfing in Howe Sound or riding a loamy single-track.”

SYSA Coach: Charlie Robinson

Born and raised in Squamish. Played youth soccer in the lower mainland before playing abroad. Currently B License trained with BC Soccer and other NCCP qualifications as well. Other interests besides soccer include golf and skiing.

SYSA Administrator: Nicole Sjogren

“I have been involved with SYSA as a coach, manager and coordinator since 2012 and the League Administrator since 2018. I enjoy working with the children, youth and volunteers of Squamish in the amazing sport of soccer. A resident since 2002, I love Squamish and all it offers skiing, climbing and biking, which I share with my three boys and husband.”

During the soccer season SYSA is playing on the fields at Brennan Park every Saturday and Sundays.  Teams and training groups can be found practicing most evenings all season.
