SYSA Mission
As experienced leaders in the sport community, the Squamish Youth Soccer Association provides its members an opportunity to develop individual and team skills through soccer at all levels.
About Us
The Squamish Youth Soccer Association (SYSA) is a volunteer, not for profit, organization with the objective of providing the youth of Squamish from the ages of 5-17 the opportunity to play soccer. SYSA provides this opportunity to approximately 1000 youth annually. There are two streams the organization manages, house and travel. Players can only participate in one stream in a season.
The house stream/league is open to all children and its focus is learning, playing, and fun. The house league plays on Saturdays and the season runs from September-November, breaks for the worst of winter, then resumes mid-February and ends in early April. The league has separate divisions for boys and girls which aggregate several age groups (e.g. U7 for 5 & 6 year olds).
The travel stream is for players with the ability and enthusiasm to play at a more competitive level. Players must attend try-outs for travel teams. These teams play in lower mainland leagues and, thus, travel quite a bit. The travel stream requires a larger commitment from players and parents than the house stream.
All our coaches are volunteers as well and we really appreciate them. If you think you’d like to coach please contact us (we’ll even pay for most coaching courses you may take).
Players and their families must conduct themselves appropriately with respect to referees, coaches, and other players. Bad behaviour will not be tolerated.

Sponsorship
The Squamish Youth Soccer Association (SYSA) is a volunteer, not for profit, local organization with the objective of providing local youth from the ages of 5-18 yrs, the opportunity to play soccer. We strive to provide this opportunity for all children in the Corridor, regardless of their financial situation, by keeping the fees modest for local families, and we subsidize any player with financial need. We believe that organized sport gives our children the opportunity to benefit from play, teamwork, fitness, direction, social skills and confidence. We rely heavily on our volunteer coaches and parents, and supportive community members. We currently have 92 teams, and annually average 1000 players per season. Multiply this number by family units, and you have a minor sport that involves nearly 1/3 of the total local population. This puts Youth soccer in Squamish at three times the number of players compared to towns of the same size or larger. We believe sponsorship in SYSA supports the youth of this community, and makes the community as a whole stronger. We respectfully ask that you consider participating as a sponsor in SYSA, and have various opportunities attached.
Please feel free to contact the volunteer executive board with any questions.
